It is traditionally one of the final big races on the calendar, with Paris Longchamp hosting the Arc on the first Sunday in October. It is worth a staggering £5 million, making it the richest flat race in Europe.
The Arc traditionally helps pinpoint the leading horse over the Classic distance every season, meaning that the roll of honour features countless legendary stars.
